Treatments overview

The Treatments module tracks the care each patient receives, from the moment it’s planned until it’s completed and paid.

The four building blocks

A patient treatment can be standalone (“Not part of a plan”) or belong to one plan.

How it fits together

Appointments: a patient treatment is carried out over one or more visits. Linking it to its appointments shows the visits on the treatment, shows the treatments on the appointment, and lets Generate Invoice pick it up.
Billing: each patient treatment carries an estimated price and estimated discount (filled in from the catalog price). When it’s invoiced, its billing status is tracked: Not invoiced, Unpaid, Partly paid, Paid.
Other modules: notes and forms can be attached to treatments and plans (Notes, Forms). Treatments and plans can be printed (Print) and shown to patients in the portal.

The assigned clinician of a treatment or plan can see it and work on it even without these permissions. For example, they can update its status and add notes, including its outcome. Billing amounts and statuses are only shown to staff who can read invoices.
