Appointment-type pricing
Section titled “Appointment-type pricing”One default price for each appointment type. It’s used for the visit line whenever an invoice is generated from an appointment.
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Appointment type | Consultation, Follow up, Emergency or Treatment. Each type can appear only once (Each appointment type can only appear once). |
| Description | The line’s text on the invoice, for example “Consultation”. |
| Price | The default amount. |
When the module is first turned on, these defaults are filled in: Consultation 300, Follow-up visit 150, Emergency visit 500. Change them to your clinic’s prices. A type without a row gets a visit line priced at 0.
Prices can always be changed on an individual invoice line until the invoice is paid or cancelled.
Applying payments to invoice lines
Section titled “Applying payments to invoice lines”An invoice often has several lines billing different records, such as two treatments and a lab order. When the patient pays part of it, Meddesk has to decide which lines that money covered, so each treatment or lab order can show Unpaid, Partly paid or Paid.
| Option | How it works | Example: invoice of 100 (treatment A 60, lab B 40), patient pays 70 |
|---|---|---|
| Oldest line first | Covers each line in order until the payment runs out. | A: paid 60 (Paid). B: paid 10 (Partly paid). |
| Proportionally | Shares every payment across all lines by their part of the invoice total. | A: paid 42 (Partly paid). B: paid 28 (Partly paid). |
This only affects how each record’s status is shown. The invoice’s own balance is the same either way.
