Guide for patients
This page explains the patient portal from the patient’s side. You can share it with your patients.
The patient portal is your clinic’s website for patients. There you can see your appointments, treatments, prescriptions, lab results, documents and invoices, and ask for an appointment. What you see depends on what your clinic uses.
Getting an account
Section titled “Getting an account”There are two ways:
- Your clinic creates it for you. You get either an email with a link to set your own password, or a temporary password from the clinic. With a temporary password, you’re asked to choose your own the first time you sign in.
- You create it yourself. On the sign-in page, select Create account, then fill in your First name, Last name, Date of birth, Gender, Phone, Email and a Password (at least 8 characters), and select Create account. Your clinic then connects your account to your patient record. Until it does, you can request appointments, but you won’t see any records yet.
Signing in
Section titled “Signing in”Enter your Email and Password and select Sign in. After a failed attempt, a small security check may appear. Complete it before trying again.
Forgot your password? Select Forgot password?, enter your email, and select Send reset instructions. If the email is registered, you receive a link to choose a new password.
Use Language to switch the portal’s language, and Appearance for a light or dark look.
The dashboard
Section titled “The dashboard”After signing in, you see a welcome, your clinic’s message, your totals (appointments, treatments, prescriptions, invoices, outstanding balance, pending requests), your most recent items, and quick links. The Emergency contact box shows how to reach the clinic urgently.
Requesting an appointment
Section titled “Requesting an appointment”- Select Request appointment.
- If your clinic offers it, Choose a practitioner, or keep Any practitioner. With a practitioner chosen, only the times they’re free are shown.
- Choose a Preferred date and Preferred time. Only the days and hours your clinic accepts requests are offered, from today up to 90 days ahead.
- Write the Reason for visit, and any Additional notes.
- Select Submit appointment request.
You can have one pending request per day. The clinic reviews it and you’re told whether it’s approved or declined. When it’s approved, you also receive the appointment confirmation. Follow your requests under Appointment requests: each shows its status (Pending, Approved or Rejected) and any response from the clinic.
For anything urgent, call the clinic. Don’t wait for a reply to a request.
Your records
Section titled “Your records”| Page | What you see |
|---|---|
| Appointments | Upcoming and past appointments, with the time, type and clinician. |
| Treatments | Your treatments, their status, and depending on your clinic, the estimate and payment status. Notes your care team shared with you. |
| Treatment plans | Your plans and the treatments in them. |
| Prescriptions | Your prescriptions, with each medication’s dosage, frequency, duration and quantity. |
| Lab results | Results your clinic has released to you, with reference ranges and flags such as Low, High, Very low or Very high. A corrected result is marked. A result the laboratory withdrew is shown as withdrawn. |
| Documents | Scans, images, letters and reports your clinic has shared with you, with their date and category. Select Open to view one, or Download for files that can’t be shown in the browser. |
| Invoices | Your invoices with items, discounts, payments, refunds and the balance due. |
| Profile | Your name, email, phone, date of birth and gender. Select Edit to update them. |
Changing your profile in the portal doesn’t change the clinic’s own record. The clinic sees what you changed and can update its record.
