Catalog and plan templates

Set up the catalog before treatments can be added to patients. You need Create treatments / Update treatments to change it, and Read treatments to see it.

Categories group treatments so they’re easy to find and report on. On the Treatments catalog page, open Categories and select New category:

  • Code: a short reference used in reports, with no spaces, for example SURG.
  • Name: in each language your clinic uses.

Select Create category. Use Search categories in any language… to find one later.

Catalogs › Treatments (“Every treatment this clinic offers”) lists each treatment’s name, category, duration, price and status. Search name, code, or category finds one.

Select New treatment and fill in:

Clinical options (“Options your modules add to this treatment - for example the chart it is recorded on, and what happens automatically when it is completed, so nobody has to record it twice.”): each module that adds something to treatments has its own part here, so a treatment only asks for what fits it. A part left empty does nothing. With none of these modules on, the section isn’t shown.

Part Fields What happens
Dental chart (with Dental Chart) Done on specific teeth, then Needs surfaces, Price is per tooth, Shows on the chart as and Usually resolves Patient treatments made from it ask which Teeth (and their surfaces). Priced per tooth, the price is multiplied by the number of teeth everywhere it’s totalled, including the invoice. Picking a tooth links its open findings of the usual kinds. When completed, exactly the linked findings are resolved and the tooth is drawn as chosen - nothing is copied onto the chart.
Recall (with Recalls) Recall after (months), Reason A recall is scheduled that many months after the treatment is completed.

For example, set Dental filling to be done on specific teeth with surfaces, shown as Filling and usually resolving Caries, and Teeth cleaning to recall after 6 months for a “6-month check-up”. The treatment’s page shows these settings under Clinical options.

Available for selection: turn off to retire the treatment without deleting its history. Retired treatments can’t be added to patients.

Select Create treatment (or Save treatment). You see Treatment created. / Treatment updated.

Clinicians see the anesthesia, contraindication and instruction details as clinical alerts on every patient treatment made from it.

Catalogs › Plan Templates holds “reusable treatment sequences your team can start a plan from”. The list shows each template’s name, its number of treatments, and when it was updated.

  1. Select New plan template (“Define a reusable treatment sequence”).
  2. Template details: Name (for example “Full mouth rehabilitation”), Code (for example TPL-001), Description, and Total duration (minutes) for every treatment in the plan.
  3. Treatment sequence: Add a treatment… for each step, in the order the patient should go through them. Drag a step to reorder it, or Remove treatment.
  4. Select Create template. You see Plan template created.

When a plan is started from a template, every active treatment in it becomes a patient treatment in the new plan. Retired treatments are skipped. If none are active, the plan can’t be created from it.

The Treatment catalog data source shows each catalog treatment with how often it was performed and the revenue it brought in. The Top treatments template ranks them.
