Adjustments

An adjustment corrects an account’s balance for any reason that isn’t a payment, expense or transfer, for example when the cash drawer count doesn’t match the books. It has no patient, supplier or other party.

You need staff access on the account, in the direction you want: In to increase the balance, Out to decrease it.

  1. Go to Finance › New Transaction and pick Adjustment.
  2. Which direction is this adjustment?
    • Incoming: adds funds to the account.
    • Outgoing: removes funds from the account.
  3. Details: choose the Account. Its current balance is shown while you work. Then enter the Amount, the Date (you can backdate it), a Reference number, and in Notes, why the adjustment is needed.
  4. Select Record an adjustment.

You see Adjustment recorded. On the transaction it’s shown as Manual adjustment, with your reason, or No reason given.
